Loot
This is the place to find the list of loot that will be awarded as prizes. Let us know if you have something to add. The more loot we have - the more prizes we can award!
Last year, I was very jealous of the winner who got one of Sarah’s yarn bowls and this year she got the prize stash started by offering up another one. Who’ll be the lucky one this year?
Ronni has a skein of yarn for one winner of Sock Madness 2. It is Yarn Love Juliet in “Contentment” 75% superwash Merino 25% nylon 112gr 495yrds. (picture at right)
Sheryl is so supportive of Sock Madness 2 that she contributed a pattern (which we’re testing right now) and is offering a set of skull stitch markers which coordinates nicely with the pattern (hint, hint). How cool is that?
Ruth promises to send one lucky winner their choice of skeins from her etsy shop. Go check out her stuff. I’m sure that you’ll agree that those are some gorgeous sock yarns.
Laura is less specific but promises something cool and knitting related. The knitty equivalent of a grab bag gift I suppose. Sounds like fun!
Jo has generously offered two skeins of hand-dyed sock yarn, merino/tencel, each making a full pair of socks. Doesn’t that sound divine?
Christina has offered a Warm Brown Large Strawberry Basket (7″dia x 7 1/4″h ) with a Paprika (red, sort of cranberry color) liner as a prize. Isn’t it sweet? The basket is a great place to keep a project, and will keep a ball from rolling away while working. One can never had too many baskets - right?
Etsy shop, Knit Front & Back has offered 5 skeins of sock yarn. I believe that it’s going to be special a colorway created just for this purpose but whatever it is, I’m sure it will be beautiful.
The Simply Socks Yarn Company has offered up a lovely prize that includes more than just yarn. Allison has offered 2 skeins of Artyarns Ultramerino and a Goknit pouch. All you’d need to knit sock is a pair of needles! Perfect for a crazt sock knitter.
They’re still in development but that hasn’t stopped Melinda of Tess Designer Yarns from offering skeins of some of her new sock yarns as prizes. Think blends that involve wool, silk, angora and more. I can’t wait to see the results. I’d tell you more but, as I said, this stuff is so new that it’s not even finalized yet.
Sheri at The Loopy Ewe is offering a real treat for one lucky knitter - a skein of Wollmeise and a Loopy Ewe Knit Notebook. I for one am very jealous because that Wollmeise is gorgeous but soooo elusive.
Rosalynn of Yarn Lust is donating 5 skeins of sock yarn in very special colorways as prizes. I have no pictures yet but we’ll post them as soon as we’ve got them. This is another Etsy shop. Go on over and check out all of the yarn and other goodies she’s got there.
Carrie, aka Pacalaga, has generously offered a handmade gift that I’m sure anyone would love. She makes sweet little sets that include a sock bag and a matching notions bag like the one in the picture at right. The really nifty thing is that she’s going to make it in the winners choice of colors.
Knit One Crochet Too is offering 4 balls of Soxx Appeal - enough for 2 pairs of socks so 2 knitters will be very fortunate. You should see how pretty this yarn is.
Tricia, another of our designers from this year and last, has generously offered 3 skeins of Reynolds Sea Sock Wool and the Steppin Out Too booklet of sock patterns that goes with the yarn.
Sue, of the UConn Cast Ons, makes nifty Yarn Boxes for traveling with a project. She will donate 2 each of the large and small boxes.
