November Approaches
It may come as a surprise to you (it certainly was to me) but we’re nearing the end of October. Where did the year go?
For many people, November 1 will mean that it’s time to plan the menu for Thanksgiving. For others it will signify crunch time for holiday knitting or reconsidering how many gifts you can realistically expect to finish by the holidays. For Sock Madness it means that the real work is about to start.
Between now and November 1 we expect to receive a flurry of patterns from designers all over North America and beyond. Then we’ll start to test them. We’ll knit them up, work with the designers to make any edits on the patterns, and, finally, decide which ones we’ll unleash on the Sock Madness players this time.
If you plan to be a player (or a spectator) then you’ll want to watch this space for teasers and hints about how the test knitting is progressing.
If you’re a designer, hopefully putting the finishing touches on your submission, then you’ll want to check the design guide for information on the requirements for SM2 patterns. Remember, anything that you can do to make things clear would be welcome. Pictures and diagrams are always helpful. Another really good idea is to add a periodic reminder of the number of stitches that should be on each needle.
As always, anyone with questions should send them to us at sockmadness at gmail dot com.
