Round 6 Specs

I suppose that there isn’t nearly as much mystery about these last 2 rounds as there was about the first 5.  It’s not nearly as much fun to tease when the mystery is gone.

You have indeed seen teasers of the last 2 socks already but they may not be exactly what you think.  I’m just sayin’ ther is at least one detail on one of these socks that will freak you out a little.  It’s totally cool though.

The specs for the next sock are as follows:

Needles = US #2  The designer used double-pointed needles but I favor the magic loop. As always, I say that you should use what makes you happy – as long as it’s the right size.

Yarn = fingering weight in 2 colors.  She used Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton (209 yards per ball.) I used one skein of Cherry Tree Hill (420 yds per hank) and one hank of Louet Gems (185 yards per skein).  I used a variegated and a solid but the variegated is really subtle.  The designer used 2 solids.  What the yarns we chose have in common is that they both had a high degree of contrast and I think it adds to the design but… it’s up to you, I could be wrong.

Gauge = 38 stitches/4 inches

Oh, and this pattern will be sent to you all on Friday but I’m not sure what the window will be yet.  I suspect that it will be late in the day but I’m not sure.  I’ll post as soon as we decide.

    Clicked “teasing” category and scrolled down just a bit and there was an exact description with photo of some Stranded knitting.

    Is that a bunch of Knit the Back Loop I’m seeing as well? Maybe just my screen. :)

    Is that really 38 sts to 4 ins on US size 2 needles? Not 28 sts?

    Woo Hoo!! Bring it! I’m really glad I don’t have to try to knit this one fast because I have a feeling it’s going to be challenging and FUN and I won’t want to get it over with quick. ;-)

    Wow, 38 st/4 in is TIGHT! I knit pretty loosely, so I’ll have to go down to about 00 to get that. Unless Jo was right and that’s a typo?
    Either way it will be interesting – I am currently using the yarn I’d intended for this pattern, on my mad weaves instead. I can’t wait to the new pattern!

    Oh blast !! We are away until Sunday night :( and no I won’t have computer access or phone or tv either ; sheer bliss to ‘get away from it all ‘. Guess l ‘ll have to wait until Monday & I have two sets of Cherry Tree Hill solids too; one in two blue shades and the other in lilac and variageted lilac. So I will HAVE to make this one :) . Will be thinking of the ‘Fantastic Four ‘

    PLEASE can we have a confirmation that it is indeed 38sts to the inch? Vikkie in the Final Four is getting frantic and the rest of us would like to know too, so we can select our finest laceweight to achieve the gauge!
