Round 4 Specs

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – you are one amazing group!  I love that this is having a positive effect on you in so many ways.  I’ve been a little stressed lately with work stuff but all I need to pick me up is a quick peek at the flickr discussion or the comments and it’s all good.  You guys are great!

The 4th sock pattern will be released Saturday morning (my time).  It’s a little early according to a strict interpretation  of the timeline we set out but we did say that we’d try to factor in the weekends.  It should arrive in your in-box between 8:00 AM and noon.

The needles for this round are US 1 and, for those of you who are curious, the designer used a set of 5 dpns.

The yarn is fingering weight and the designer used 2 skeins of Clauda’s which has about 172 yards per skein.  Felicia used Cherry Tree Hill when she test knit it.  (ETA 10:51 PM- I forgot to mention that the yarn for this round should be variegated.   A solid would work too but this pattern screams for a variegated yarn.)

There is one detail missing from this post – the gauge.  When we went to post these specs for you we decided that the gauge seemed odd so we’re double checking it and we’ll post it as soon as we have confirmed it.  If we didn’t ask the question we know for certain that you would.

Woohoo! Round 4 here we come!
I am guesssing the recommended yarn is variegated? Or are we doing a solid this time?
I am guessing variegated since the original yarn used was Claudia’s Handpainted..but I have been wrong before.
(Just wondering where this pattern stacks up too the recommended yarn and needle page. ;) )
    Thanks!

Boy I get up extra early to tackle some writing jobs and what do I find but the spec for the next round! Grateful for the details and for the Saturday timeslot (will be afternoon for us though, so you Statesiders will definitely get a head start on Tezzcan and myself Saturday night/Sunday morning again.)

Got some Cherry Tree Hill, also got some lurid variegated hand-dyed chez Celtic Memory yarn which most accurately resembles an explosion in a sweetshop. Plus my favourite standby, Crystal Palace cotton/bamboo just for safety. Will almost certainly use size 0 gauge as I still knit a bit loose.

    Je suis pret!

I’m loving the release time (I’d calculated that it would maybe be Monday, but weekends tend to be much easier for me, and waiting for the pattern release is so hard for those of us that are patience deprived!), thank you!

I’ve also got some fibery stuff that should work; I’ll wait to decide which needles after guage-ing (who .is. that person that’s suddenly started knitting guages for socks?!!)… Can’t wait!

Oh thank goodness! I was dreading it happening on Monday (working very late, and then must be up early on Tuesday – big work event)!

Argh. I’m probably going to get knocked out this round – my weekend is booked solid with The Shiny New Boyfriend, so I was actually kind of hoping for a weekday release this time (even though my weekdays are pretty packed, too). It would have been so much easier to decide between work and knitting, than deciding between New Boy and knitting! But of course, I still can’t wait to see what the pattern will be! Good luck to everyone!

I’m almost glad I was knocked out last round. This saturday, I get to go to a Culinary Arts festival – the Cooks and Corks part. Pay a fee, get a wine glass, wander through the festival all weekend sampling food and wine from resorts and vineyards. Then stumble back to the hotel. No need to worry about how I “should be knitting” or how much sleep I’m going to lose to finish these things. You sweet 16 have fun with that! And I agree with Wendy, I hope it’s lace. I like lace.

I suppose, Flakyknits, that a first date with Shiny New Boyfriend isn’t exactly the time to reveal that you are a manic knitter who would rather curl up with a circular than a six-pack any time. But then again, SNB (HEYYY, that stands for Stitch N Bitch too, gotta be a good omen!) might be into knitting himself. You never know.

Just wondering…. if he had a really big sports event to watch on TV with his friends, which would come first? Ah shuddup Celtic Memory and get back to your yarn winding.
