Number of Repeats

There have many comments and questions flying about about the number of repeats on the leg. Here is the final ruling. If 4 repeats makes the leg long enough and you are happy with it–make it 4. If you finish 4 and think that it’s too short, go for 5.

I interpreted the pattern to be a total of 5 repeats on the leg. I found that 4 was too short for me. 5 was just right. That’s just me. These are your socks–you need to be happy with them.

If you’ve finished the leg and have turned the heel or have finished the sock or are in the middle of the toe, you don’t need to rip back. Just move on! If you haven’t gotten that far yet, use your best judgement to decide what works best for you.

The only requirement for finishing is that the sock fits an average adult foot (US 7-9). I realize that this addresses foot length, not leg height. Hillary and I will have to figure out how to address leg height in the future. For now, please just use your best judgement and play in the spirit of fairness.

Happy Knitting
