Loot!

SM Yarn

Did that burst of color shock you? It’s kind of funny because on my personal blog I rarely have a post without pictures but here it’s just the opposite. I’m sure that will change as you all start working on the Sock Madness.

This post is all about prizes. I’m amazed that nobody has asked about them but I’m encouraged too. I think it’s a sign that you all recognize that the patterns themselves are a prize. Right? Ok, maybe I am delusional.

Anyway, in addition to the prizes listed in the prize page we have a few more. Isn’t it sweet how the list keeps growing?

First addition to the list is the yarn above which is 100% Superwash wool that I dyed myself. Starting from the top right I’ve named most of them – Spring, Indian Corn, Splash and nameless.  That last one just makes me happy but I’m not sure where the color combo came from.  Those are all 400+ yard skeins and there’s more where that came from.

The next one is from Beth Brown, a competitor in Sock Madness, who is offering one skein of variegated merino/tencel sock yarn, in the prize winner’s choice of colors. Very cool!

Tricia Weatherston designed one of the patterns that we’ll be using and she’s offered a great prize too. One lucky winner will receive 2 skeins of Claudia Handpaint, 2 balls of Panda wool and a ball of Trekking XXL. There are no pictures of this because she plans to select yarns according to the winner’s color preferences.
